4130 chromoly tubing is used an awful lot in motorsports as well as in aviation because of its high strength to weight ratio.

I have a good friend who once competed in the X games on a street luge made utilizing a 4130 chromoly tubing frame.

For both motorsports and aviation, cluster joints, and triangulation provide strength.

But filler metal selection is still important.

...And so is the tig cup.

So for this video, I am TIG welding a cluster joint of sorts…4 pieces of 4130 tubing intersection into another tube.

And I am using what I think is a perfect cup for this application.
